Dispatch to Tradgarland

To Duke Karl Frederick of Tradgarland

Your Grace,

Their Graces have authorized me to conclude a non-agression pact between our two countries, as well as to propose the establishment of a joint river patrol to ensure that no soldiers or aid to our mutual enemies pass down the river we share in common.

Our forces are not yet in position to allow a formal pledge of complete certainty of armed assistance at this time. Let us say that we would each endeavor to aid the other to the fullest extent possible, considering our mutual security of grave importance. If this language is acceptable to Your Grace, I stand ready to conclude a formal accord to that effect at your convenience.

Our Minister of Trade also wishes me to inform you that we have ready a convoy of iron ore to assist you in development and arming of your own forces should you desire it, and we would be most interested in delivering samples of your fishing production to our markets to test the interest of our populations.

Respectfully,

Burgraf Heinrich von Waffenschmidt
Minister of State

Happy Saturday Jonathan,

I was just rereading some of the posts at OSW. Please don't let some of those guys get you down over "there".

Admittedly, there are some OSW members who seem testy and behave as if it's their personal discussion forum. But as another OSW member noted in that whole thread about imaginary 18th century campaigns, if they tire of a topic, it's up to them to introduce a new one germane to their particular interests. Anyway, as my dad always used to say, "consider the source. . ."

I hope you'll continue to partakes in the 18th century-oriented discussions at OSW when they arise -- or even introduce your own related topics for discussion. The group sorely needs more members with your enthusiasm.

Best Regards,

Stokes

Thanks, Stokes. That means quite a bit coming from you. And yes, I'll continue to take part in conversations there. It just really got my goat that day. And you know how much we in Hesse-Engelburg take pride in our fine goats.
